Born in Leicester in 1979, Simon has played saxophone professionally since 1999 and is based in Leeds, UK. He is currently involved in numerous jazz, pop, funk and experimental projects.

Taking up saxophone aged 14, Simon won the Lee Goodhew Award for Music and became a featured solist with the Leicestershire Arts Youth Big Band. This experience fuelled his passion for music and he moved to Leeds to study Jazz at Leeds College of Music. After Completing his B.A.(Hons)Degree, Simon went on to gain a Masters Degree, (also from LCM) and was awarded The 'Spud Murphy' Award for Saxophone, The LCM Award for Postgraduate Studies and The LCM Award for Outstanding Performance.

Simon has studied with:

Phil Chapman, Joel Purnell, Tim Garland, Pete Wareham, Mark Donlon and American saxophone Colossus, Jerry Bergonzi.

As a professional player, he performs all over the UK and abroad as a featured artist and also as a member of numerous other projects. He has appeared with artists such as Bob Mintzer, Ken Vandermark, Ingerbrigt Haaker Flaten, Marc Ducret, Franck Vigroux, Tony Kofi, Byron Wallen, Joanna McGreggor, Roy Wood (E.L.O, Wizzard, The Move), Marissa Turner (Prince, Chaka Khan), Peter Grant, Lisa Scott Lee and Andy Scott Lee and many more. He has been on 'Emmerdale', 'This Morning' and is appearing on ITV's 'Heartbeat' in the next series.
